Iditarod 2011
Completing a 1,000-mile race like the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race or the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race is no small feat. But just getting there is more than half the battle. Jillian’s goal is to enter and complete the Iditarod, a race across Alaska from Willow, to Nome. She has been working at completing shorter 100-, 200- and 300-mile events in order to qualify for the ‘Big One.’

With a lot of hard work, a solid commitment and hopefully help from sponsors and supporters, Jillian will be there at the start line of the 2011 Iditarod with her team of eager Spitfires. The Iditarod is the ultimate test for a musher and her team. Richard completed his first Iditarod in 2008 and has helped Jillian prepare for the task ahead. The strong bond between driver and dog is tested each day but ultimately gets stronger and stronger. Jillian is looking forward to seeing all the majestic terrain of Alaska on the back of a dog team via the Iditarod trail and sharing the experience with her dogs. For more information on the race, go to www.iditarod.com
